The Conference for Food Protection Executive Board meets twice per year (April and August) in order to manage the activities of the Conference. In addition to general administration, each meeting has a unique set of events depending upon its position in the Conference Cycle. A few examples are listed below.

Biennial Meeting Year

April - Conference attendees attend Biennial Meeting in host city (location is rotated among FDA Regions) to discuss submitted Issues, deliberate in Councils, facilitate Assembly of Delegates, and make recommendations to Federal Agencies on retail food regulatory practices. The Executive Board meets at least daily during the Conference to oversee the Biennial Meeting and the activities of the various Conference Bodies.

August - the Executive Board meets to carry on general business. Federal agencies are required to report back to the Conference on its response to Conference recommendations. Committees are also in the process of being established or reestablished and approved.

Non-Biennial Meeting Year

April - Executive Board meets in the host city and stays at the hotel that will house the next Biennial Meeting. Meetings are held with hotel staff and the Local Arrangements Committee. Committees are highly active and report details of their activities through their Council Chairs. Program Committee is actively planning for the Saturday Pre-Conference Workshop.

August - The Executive Board meets to carry on general business and finalize preparations for the upcoming Bennial Meeting. Council formation for the next Biennial Meeting is taking place. The Issue submission process is tested and communication with CFP members is intensified in preparation for the registration process.
